Bag Build by Budget for Women: A Full Bag at Every Budget
Women golfers get a worse deal shopping for clubs: smaller ranges, gear that's just a men's club made shorter, and prices nobody lets you compare. So we're building a full ladies' bag at every budget, priced live. Here's the plan.

If you're a woman buying golf clubs, you already know the choice is worse than it should be. The ranges are smaller, a lot of "women's" gear is really just a men's club made shorter and finished in a different colour, and good luck comparing prices when half the shops barely stock the ladies' lineup. So we're fixing the part we can: the comparison.
Over the next four weeks we're building a complete 14-club ladies' bag for every kind of golfer, at every budget, and pricing each one live across every retailer we track in the UK, US and the Netherlands. No guesswork, no made-up prices, just real bags you can open, see the total on, swap a club in or out of, and buy. This is Bag Build by Budget, and this is the women's side of it.
What we're building
Each week takes one kind of golfer and builds her bag from the driver to the putter.
Week 1 is high handicappers, the golfers who want maximum forgiveness and the most help from their gear. Week 2 is mid handicappers. Week 3 is low handicappers. Week 4 is scratch and better players who want precision and feel. Inside each week there's a Value bag for the least money, a Mid-Range bag that's the sweet spot for most golfers, and Enthusiast and Ultimate bags for anyone who wants current premium gear, plus a Winter build tuned for cold, wet, low-light golf.
The part that actually matters for a women's bag
The real difference in a women's club is usually the shaft, not the colour. Lighter, more flexible shafts (often sold as ladies flex) suit slower swing speeds and help get the ball in the air, and length and grip size matter too. Get those right and the whole bag gets easier to hit.
But here's the bit the shops won't tell you: you're not locked into the women's range. If a regular or senior flex, or a standard-length club, actually fits your swing better, play it. Fit beats the label on the box every time. In each build we pick for the right spec, and you can check what's available for your swing on the Price Check page for your market.
How we build them, and why you can trust the prices
Three rules sit behind every bag in this series.
They're real. Every club in every build is a product that's on sale right now, priced live from the retailers we track. Nothing is aspirational or out of stock by the time you read it.
They're honest. We pick for forgiveness, fit and value, not for what pays us the most. Where a club is better bought used or a generation old, we'll say so, because the technology has barely moved in a few seasons and the money is better spent elsewhere.
They're yours to change. A build is a starting point, not a prescription. Open any one in the builder, swap any club, and the total reprices instantly across retailers in your market.
Start here, this week
We're kicking off with the high handicappers. This week we're publishing all five ladies' High Handicap builds, from the Value bag up to the Ultimate, plus the Winter build. The quick version of the thinking: buy forgiveness over everything, lean on hybrids instead of long irons, and get the shaft right for your swing speed rather than defaulting to whatever the box says.
You don't have to wait for the series to roll out, though. The first ladies' High Handicap builds are live now, so open one and see the full bag priced across every retailer we track, then follow along this week as the rest go live.
FAQ
What actually makes a women's golf club different?
Usually the shaft. Lighter, more flexible shafts (often called ladies flex) suit slower swing speeds and help launch the ball, and length and grip size matter too. The colour is just colour. Get the shaft, length and grip right and the bag gets much easier to hit.
Do I have to buy from the women's range?
No. If a regular or senior flex, or a standard-length club, fits your swing better, play it. Fit matters more than the label on the box. We pick each build for the right spec, and you can check what's available for your swing on the Price Check page for your market.
Are women's clubs worth buying used?
For drivers, woods, hybrids and irons, yes. The technology has barely changed in a few seasons, so a clean previous-gen club is strong value, and the money saved is better spent on more of the bag or a lesson. Buy wedges newer, because the grooves wear.
How much does a full women's set cost?
Less than you'd think. The Value build gets you a complete, playable bag for the least money, and the Mid-Range build is the sweet spot for most golfers. Pick the tier that matches your budget and how often you play, and see the live total on each build.
When do the builds come out?
Across the next four weeks, one skill level a week. We're starting with the ladies' High Handicap builds this week, each one going live on its own day.
Take a look, and make it your own.
